Building a picnic area in the North-west garden.

One of my neighbours is a retired landscaper. No not the Diarmuid Gavin type. This guy used to take off his jacket and get stuck in. When he offered to do the donkey work for this (and as it was a jungle, there were a lot of donkeys) in return for a session in the local I couldn't refuse. Of course at that time I didn't know that the pub never closes and he would spend 3 weeks there.

First the area was cleared and the start of a framework was put in. (Pictures 1, 2 & 3)
Needless to say, if I'd been waiting for the greenhouse for this area it would have arrived late. As it was it came 2 weeks early, and the best thing to do with it was to put it up before continuing with the decking. (Pictures 4, 5 & 6)
Whilst I did the light work, putting in the old bath for some of my beloved sarracenias, George continued finishing the decking and putting up home-made fencing made from re-cycled pallets. (7, 8 & 9)
And continued............... (10, 11 & 12)

...........and continued. I was sorry in a way to see the old rustic, tree-trunk fencing go, in a way, but it was totally rotten and just a great home for wood-lice. (13, 14, 15 &16)

And eventually I started to get the plants ready to go into the borders (17 & 18) and think about the new soft-fruit area in front of the greenhouse (16). Picture to follow, this summer (2011).
